Look: Not the prettiest copy I have ever seen, but I like the warm reds, and using a human form is a good idea. I can't fault the theory of the thing.
Extras: Black and white photos at the front of the author, key figures, places and of the manuscript of the Sphynx (why not Dorian...?). Basic notes at the back, and an author biography of about twenty pages which commendably focuses on the literature. They also have a section on screen-spinoffs. It gave me a small boost of joy to see League of Extraordinary Gentlemen listed.
The story: Popped into Foyles because it was big and pretty. Popped out with a Student Discount Card, and this. It wasn't a love at first sight, or anything - I just figured I should get it to swell the collection.
